School in the Square is open to any child eligible for admission to a public school under the laws of New York State. To apply, families only need to complete and submit the Application for Admission. School in the Square maintains the following preferences for admission:
- Siblings of students already enrolled in the school will have an absolute preference.
- Siblings of students selected in the lottery process will have an absolute preference.
- Children of staff members will have an absolute preference.
- Students residing within the district of location will receive an absolute preference (i.e. will be drawn before students living outside the district).
The 2019 admissions lottery took place at 9:30 a.m. on April 5th.
You do not need to be present.
School in the Square Public Charter School does not discriminate against or limit the admission of any student on any unlawful basis, including on the basis of intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, ethnicity, race, creed, gender, national origin, religion, ancestry, gender, sexual orientation, or for any other basis that would be unlawful for a public school. We do not require any action by a student or family (such as an admissions test, interview, essay, attendance at an information session, etc.) in order for an applicant to either receive or submit an application for admission to that school.
