PARENT CORNER

At School in the Square, parents and guardians are an integral part of our community. It is essential that our parents know what their children are doing at school and that they have the information neceesary to engage with them about their education. We believe that educators and guardians must act as a team working towards the growth of each student. Through monthly meet ups, invitations to school events, newsletters, and regular comunication, we work to engage our students' families and create opportunities for involvement at the school. We want S2 families to be fully equipped with the tools to reinforce positive behaviors and academic habits at home, and to better fulfill their role in our students' educations.

Please be sure to attend our monthly Coffee and Conversations at the school. This is a time for parents to meet eachother, hear from leadership staff about recent events, gain important information about goings on at the school, and express concerns or ask questions.

The final Coffee & Conversation of the year will be held in late May or early June, details coming soon.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

New York State Assessment Tests are fast approaching. ELA tests will be given April 11-12, and Math tests will be on May 1-2. S2 is doing everything we can to prepare our students, including inviting some students for additional after-school and Saturday tutoring with their teachers. This time will be used to teach test-specific skills and strategies. If your child recieved an invitation for this special opportunity, please help us by making this a priority in their lives.
