This is where you can find helpful information to make sure your children get to school and back home safely and securely every day.
The Office of Pupil Transportation determines transportation eligibility for students based on their grade, distance from school, and any special circumstances. Below is a basic guideline:
- 6th graders living .5 - 1 mile from school are eligible for a half-fare metrocard.
- 6th graders living over 1 mile from school are eligible to receive stop-to-stop yellow bus service OR a full-fare student metrocard.
- 7th & 8th graders living .5 - 1.5 miles from school are eligible for a half-fare student metrocard.
- 7th & 8th graders living over 1.5 miles from school are eligible for a full-fare metrocard.
If your child is eligible for stop-to-stop yellow bus service, you must find out their route. Make sure you have your child’s date of birth and Student ID (OSIS), then visit the Transportation Search Page. If you don’t know your child’s Student ID (OSIS), call the Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT) at (718) 392-8855, or call the school at (718) 916-7683 and we will be happy to help you.
Visit the Office of Pupil Transportation website for more detailed information.
If your child’s bus is running late, please contact the OPT directly at (718) 392-8855.
Finally, if you want to change your child’s transportation preference (e.g. yellow bus to metrocard) please call (718) 916-7683 and speak to our front desk staff.
