The new school year started strong with two days of orientation. 6th graders spent time with their new classmates, met their teachers, toured the building and learned about S2's school culture. 7th and 8th graders were welcomed back with open arms, it is so excited to see students returning after summer break, both tanner and taller! The staff and teachers worked so hard during the summer to prepare the school for our best year yet, and if orientation was any indication, it definitely will be!
Summer in the Square 2018 included three weeks of learning, inventing and having fun! Students used their creativity to solve a variety of invention problems such as designing a video game that incorporated wellness, considering what the phones of the future will look like and do for us, and building their own Rube Goldberg machines! We loved seeing students use their imagination to come up with some truly ingenious ideas.

Everyone had a blast, whether they were at the zoo, or the aquarium, or battery park, or painting pottery on the UWS. A great way to mark the final weeks of school!
