On Tuesday, February 13th, a small group of self-selected artistic students took an early morning trip to the MoMA before the museum opened to the public. The exclusive experience focused on the ideas of "community" and "identity". Students were broken up into two groups, and each were led on a different guided tour. They learned about artists such as Frida Kahlo, Picasso, and Helen Levitt, and were asked to create self-portraits inspired by one of these artists. The kids loved having such an intimate experience of the museum and made some really impressive works of their own!
