On one of the hottest days of the year so far, all 200+ S2 students gathered with their teachers and families to enjoy the second annual S2 Talent Show. Despite the building heat in the room, students cheered on their peers with endless energy for over two hours of performances. The event started off with a Passions Presentation, that included skits by the Cooking students about Food Justice, short plays produced and performed by PTP students, an impressive display of ballroom dancing, and a trophy presentation to our Chess players. The talent show kicked off with a solo singing performances by two young ladies, treating the audience to songs by Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill. Next, a solo comedy routine was followed by a series of impressive hip hop dance performances. A male comedy duo had everyone rolling on the floor with jokes about religious grandmothers, and the crowd couldn't help but bop their heads to a father-son mariachi duo, singing and playing the guitar and accordion. The event ended with a display of Judo moves, as one female student handedly knocked down her instructor.
We are proud of all the performers for taking a risk, showing a lot of courage, and performing in front of your peers to share your various talents. Kudos too to our audience members for your enthusiasm and encouragement for every performer.
