Ms. Brittany Benjamin
7th Grade ELA Teacher
Over the past three years, Brittany has worked in several districts across Rockland County, NY as a long-term leave replacement and as a substitute in middle school and high school settings with grades ranging from 7th to 12th. Over the summer, she worked in a "hagwon" style tutoring facility, which is modeled after academies or cram schools prevalent in South Korea. There, she instructed high level classes for literacy, vocabulary, and advanced creative writing.
Brittany received her Associate's of Art degree from Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, MA. From there, she received her BA in English and graduated Sigma Tau Delta before earning her MST in Education from Saint Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, NY. In college, she became a member of Rockland Reading Council, an organization dedicated to fostering reading as a lifetime skill.
Brittany is ecstatic to become a teacher at S2. She is eager to help future students obtain the skills necessary to take their academic performance to a higher level. Using the skills and experiences she has learned working alongside talented educators over the past few years, she is equally excited to continue to collaborate and grow with the community at School in the Square.
