Mrs. Yisbell Marrero
Family Support Program Coordinator
Yisbell brings to S2 her expertise in Political Science and Global Studies. Since 2017, Yisbell has been able to cultivate interest in the Latin American and Caribbean scholar epistemology discourse and in the community who helped her grow, Washington Heights. Yisbell has worked on calling all stakeholders to implement the UN Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women, “Minorities” & the Underrepresented, with consultation from various stakeholders—local business owners, delegates, and civil society. At Trinity College, Yisbell also served as the cultural house coordinator for the Office of Multicultural Affairs where she managed and curated safe spaces for students of color, LGBTQIA+ community, and opinion budgets with a focus on global sociopolitical issues and the college’s relationship to Hartford, CT. Due to her love for Washington Heights, Yisbell decided to return to the neighborhood and help families resolve their challenges daily especially during these uncertain times.
