About our school

Founded in 2016, School in the Square is a tuition-free public charter school serving more than 800 PreK-11 students from Inwood, Washington Heights, and the broader northern Manhattan community. Our mission is to engage, educate, and empower every student through a comprehensive program that includes Spanish language and cultural exploration, athletics and the arts, counseling and social-emotional services, civic engagement, and wraparound family supports.
