Director of Development

Elizabeth Miller is an experienced educator and school leader with nearly two decades of service in district and charter schools. She began her career through Teach For America, teaching 4th and 5th grades in Little Haiti, where she was recognized as an award-winning teacher, and supporting new educators across the Miami region and at regional institutes nationwide. She also helped launch an independent charter school in Liberty City, teaching 1st grade and supporting special education services and IEP implementation across the school.

Elizabeth later joined Success Academy Charter Schools, serving in multiple leadership roles across the South Bronx, East Harlem, and Southeast Queens, including more than five years as a Principal. Her schools consistently performed among New York’s top-ranking elementary schools, and she achieved the network’s highest suspension reduction. She also developed instructional systems adopted by school leaders across the network and led trainings that strengthened early-elementary literacy results. Following her principalship, she served as the network’s Lead for Advocacy and Public Affairs, deepening partnerships with families and community stakeholders.

At School in the Square, Elizabeth leads development efforts that advance the school’s mission and long-term sustainability. She holds both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Special Education from Rutgers University.
