Ja'Nai Harris' Bio
Director of SEL and Culture

Ja'Nai Harris is a dedicated education leader with eight years of experience in the charter school sector, including four years in school leadership. Currently serving as Director of SEL and Culture, she has built a reputation for fostering inclusive, high-performing school environments grounded in equity, empathy, and academic excellence.

Before stepping into her current role, Ms. Harris served as the founding principal at one of New York City’s top three charter schools, where she led an upper elementary program recognized for its strong culture, rigorous instruction, and student-centered approach.

A passionate advocate for holistic education, Ms. Harris leads with the belief that schools thrive when adults “do what is right for kids,” lead with love, and maintain high expectations while creating access points that empower all students to reach excellence.

Ms. Harris earned her bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College and her master’s degree in Sociology and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
