Director of Building and Facilities


Noel Torres serves as the Director of Building and Facilities at School in the Square, where he oversees all aspects of facilities operations and building systems across the organization. His responsibilities include managing HVAC, elevator systems, security, janitorial services, and building automation, as well as coordinating vendors, maintenance contracts, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. His work is focused on maintaining safe, reliable, and well-functioning environments that support students, staff, and daily school operations.


Noel brings extensive hands-on experience in facilities and operations across the charter school and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining School in the Square, he held facilities coordination and maintenance roles where he conducted building inspections, supported regulatory compliance, and served as a key liaison between internal teams and external vendors. He holds New York City Certificates of Fitness S-93, S-95, S-12, and F-07, as well as a Food Protection Certificate, and continues to expand his expertise in facilities leadership and long-term operational planning. Known for his collaborative approach, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving, Noel takes pride in supporting organizations through steady and thoughtful facilities management.
