Andrew Walker
Chief Academic Officer

Andrew Walker is an educator and leader with more than 15 years of experience advancing academic excellence, equity, and joyful school culture in public charter schools. He began his career as a middle school ELA teacher through the MATCH Teacher Residency in Boston before joining Achievement First, where he earned Distinguished Teacher recognition, the network’s highest instructional honor for exceptional student achievement.


Andrew later served as the founding principal of Achievement First Iluminar Middle School in Providence, RI, leading the launch and growth of a grades 5–8 school that achieved some of the strongest academic growth and student investment outcomes in the network.


Most recently, Andrew served as Head of Schools at KIPP DC, coaching and supporting school leaders across multiple campuses. Andrew is deeply committed to building joyful and engaging classrooms where all students experience rigorous instruction, strong relationships, and a genuine love of learning. He holds a B.A. in American Studies from Wesleyan University and completed the National Principal Academy Fellowship through Relay Graduate School of Education.
