Zachary Zeppieri

Principal, School in the Square’s Bilingual Early Childhood Center


Zachary Zeppieri is the Principal for School in the Square’s Bilingual Early Childhood Center. He is an experienced school leader with two decades of work in education, dedicated to building strong school communities and driving student achievement. He previously served as Assistant Principal at School in the Square Early Childhood Center and Elementary School, where he joined the team in the 2024–2025 school year. In this role, he has led work across instruction, culture, and operations, including designing and launching the school’s instructional coaching program, implementing standards-based report cards, and supporting the rollout of DIBELS as a key tool for literacy benchmarking.


Zach began his career in New Orleans, where he was part of founding school communities in the years following Hurricane Katrina. He later continued his work in high-achieving charter schools in Harlem, deepening his experience in rigorous instruction, strong school culture, and systems that support all learners.

Originally from Upstate New York, Zach has lived and worked in the Washington Heights and Inwood community for the past 15 years and is deeply committed to the students and families he serves.


His leadership is grounded in the belief that high expectations, strong relationships, and aligned systems create the conditions for every student to thrive. He is excited to step into the principal role and continue working alongside students, staff, and families to build a school culture rooted in excellence, equity, and opportunity for all.
