Your First Week at School in the Square

September 3, 2026

At School in the Square, we want your child to walk in on the first day feeling ready, known, and excited to be here.

So here's what to have ready for week one, plus a few simple habits that help any student start strong.

What to Have Ready for the First Week

Good news for S2 families: the supply list is short. Most back-to-school lists run a full page. Ours is a handful of basics. You send in a few things, and we provide the classroom technology, materials, and daily supplies.

Every student brings:

  • A backpack
  • A reusable water bottle, labeled with your child's name
  • Uniform attire

A few notes by campus:

  • Our youngest students in PreK and elementary need a few extra items, like a change of clothes and, for PreK, nap-time supplies. Your campus supply list has the full details.
  • New students get a free starter uniform package. You can order more uniform items anytime.
  • Please label personal belongings like backpacks and water bottles, but not shared classroom supplies. Those stay in the classroom so every student has what they need all year.

You'll find the full supply list for your child's grade, from PreK through Grade 11, on our School Supplies page.

A few quick reminders:

  • Arrive on time. Getting in before the bell helps your child settle in and start the day feeling prepared.
  • Join ParentSquare. Watch for your sign-up email (check your spam folder), then activate your account and download the app for school updates.
  • Order uniforms. You can purchase uniform items anytime at yourstudentstyles.com. Click "Choose Your School" and select your S2 campus to see the right uniform items.

You've got this

The first week is mostly about showing up ready, and now you know what that takes: a few basics in the backpack, uniforms sorted, and ParentSquare set up so you don't miss anything. Everything else, we've got covered.

Check your child's full supply list on our School Supplies page, and if anything's unclear, your campus team is always happy to help.
